Periquita is a traditional name for Castelo, a Portuguese red grape giving firm, savory, red fruited wines. It's joined by Trincadeira a Portuguese red grape prized for its spicy, dark berry aromatics and is widely grown in the Alentejo and Douro. It's from the Alentejo, the warm, rolling plains of southern Portugal
