In addition to holding one standard paper towel roll that measures 8 or 9 inches in diameter, the unit also holds a stub roll that is 4 inches in diameter. When users dispense towels, the main roll is used, but if that roll becomes completely depleted, the unit will begin to draw towels from the stub roll
