At cone 05, it is red brown and reminiscent of the clay it is named after. It darkens at cone 5 and becomes a deep chocolate color at cone 10. Saturated color, dependability, and versatility make Velvets as popular for professionals as they are for children. Velvets fire true to color as a Cone 05 06 underglaze or fired to Cone 6.
