It has a dotted "arare" pattern throughout and a simple handle. The handle is non movable and the lid has a decorative pinecone finial at the top. Tetsubin began to be used in tea ceremonies in the late Edo period. Efficacy: Boiling water in an iron kettle makes the water milder and tastier, as well as providing iron to
